What is Celebrating Love? 

So many of our biases are based on the images that we see. Often times black love (not just romantic) is synonymous with struggle.  So, as a photographer who believes that it's up to us to support, promote and create the images that we want to see, I've started a project called "Celebrating Love".  A series of portrait of parents & their children, friends, colleagues, business partners, couples, youth workers etc... to celebrate the love that they have for each other and rewrite the narrative of blackness and love. In the words of bell hooks “The moment we chose to love we begin to move towards freedom to act in ways that liberates ourself and others”.
